Located at an amazing place in Amsterdam, I remember RED as a very nice restaurant. We have been here many times pre-covid and wanted to visit after such a long time. The dining for 2 turned out to be a disaster. Firstly the menu; the portions are extremely small (tartare is practically the size of 2 amuses) and the steak is small too. But if the quality is amazing, then thats not a big deal. The fries turned out to be soft and soaky and the steak, although ordered med/rare came back well done. After sending it back, the second was also well done. It's disappointing to see that a place specialized in basically 2 products (lobster + steak) is not able to deliver a well cooked steak.

Whilst getting our (2nd) steak, we ordered a new glass of wine. This was delivered when we finished our food. Although we reminded the staff of our order, it came too late.

Maybe it was a unlucky day for the staff in the kitchen and helping on the tables, the quality of the products on top of this make it not worth a visit.

For a 100 euro lunch for 2, the price does not come close to what is given. We have had lunches in the period after for the same amount of money in very good places, that makes this lunch almost feel like a scam.

We are very disappointed with the experience and this AMEX should reconsider keeping this place in their offering.
