Restaurant De Compagnon, located in a monumental canal house, has a beautiful view over the water of the Damrak. The restaurant has a classic and warm atmosphere. Cooking has been done here since 1992.

The food was generally not great, but the fish was so bad that we could not finish it, and the meat was uncooked. Not an isolated incident as the table next to us complained to the waiter about the taste and cooking of their own dishes which were different.

Zo werd het menu niet uitgelegd, was het hoofdgerecht erg droog bij de 1, andere gerechten waren te simpel qua bereiding en smaak, en stonden onze borden van het vorige gerecht nog op tafel toen het volgende gerecht al aankwam. Jammer, want dat zijn net de details waarop gescoord kan worden.

Vervelend om te horen. Dining city menu's worden echter niet uitgelegd omdat een 'tasting' 'suprise' menu is. Dit is de hele opzet van de restaurantweek. Daarom word er ook netjes vooraf gevraagd of er nog allergieën of dieetwensen zijn zodat daar rekening mee gehouden kan worden.l Nogmaals vervelend om te horen dat de gerechten voor u niet naar wens waren.
