Description
Restaurant The Riverside is located on a historic site in Maarssen. In 2021, the restaurant has undergone a complete metamorphosis. For example, it has been given a contemporary modern design where you can enjoy yourself in a relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen, led by chef Tom Vermeulen, has also been given a metamorphosis. The menu changes four times a year and is all about surprise. Perfectly composed flavor explosions where every bite should be a surprise. In short, a wonderful place for a nice lunch or dinner.

We arrived on a Thursday evening during the fall holidays, so the restaurant was rather quiet, only about 5 tables occupied. Staff was very friendly and the owner was also very welcoming. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous.

The food is the best. We’ve enjoyed a mix of flavors in the ‘Puffed Beet Tartar’ with eel as a starter. We couldn’t pass on some beautiful appetizers like tuna taco’s and a second plate lake the Foie gras canard: best ever. The main course in the menu was a Seabass with a heavenly lemon mousseline. All accompanied with nice wine made this a real food experience in a nice atmosphere.
