Description
Located by the water on the Prinsengracht, you’ll find John Dory in a beautiful warehouse built in 1680.
They work with sustainably sourced fish, meat from local butchers, the crispiest bread from our Amsterdam baker, and the finest seasonal vegetables.
The carefully curated menu changes constantly with the seasons and the availability of products, and the enthusiastic team is eager to offer you a delightful evening.

We hebben genoten van een prachtig 4-gangen vis menu. Alle gerechten zijn verrassend, mooi opgemaakt, goed geproportioneerd en smaken uitstekend. De bediening is vriendelijk en attend. Een aanrader.
Een fijne plek en mooi versierd in kerstsfeer. Mooi opgemaakte borden en ontzettend lekker. De service prettig en fijne uitleg. We hebben genoten.

En toen begon het feest: amuse bouche was een schuim van Thaise curry, voorgerecht verse makreel met karnemelksaus en een heerlijk krokantje (foto), hoofdgerecht Rode poon met spek en heerlijke aardse smaken van o.a. aardpeer en biet. I.p.v. het dessert kozen we 2 alternatieven omdat we de gebakken ganzenlever met ganzenlevermousse, paddo-ijs en karamel gewoon wilde proeven en, als afsluiting, een bordje kaas. Het was echt ontzettend smullen.
De beide gerechten hadden een surplus van resp. €10 en €8. Terwijl kaas als extra gang €11 zou zijn geweest.
Daarbij hadden we een uiterst charmante én attente Italiaanse ober die ons tijdig het wijnarrangement serveerde en ook 2x een de restje wijn bij kwam schenken omdat hij het anders weg moest gooien ;).
Het zicht op de keuken was ook aangenaam, een open keuken die rust uitstraalde.
Wij hadden een fantastische avond en ik zou elke visliefhebber aanraden hier eens te gaan eten.
Bij het 1e gerecht en foto geknipt en vervolgens opgegaan in de avond en het dus vergeten.
