Restaurant De Compagnon, located in a monumental canal house, has a beautiful view over the water of the Damrak. The restaurant has a classic and warm atmosphere. Cooking has been done here since 1992.
The kitchen is French with a personal twist on the dishes. These dishes are made with fresh and pure ingredients. A love for beautiful, high-quality products creates special dishes.

Our service was efficient and professional, but some of the staff lacked friendliness (maybe just typical dutch?) and at times felt a little bit snobby, like we were not paid as much attention because we were restaurant-week diners and did not speak dutch?
Atmosphere is cosy, though our particular table appeared oversized for the nook location and we felt a bit squashed against the walls and a panel heater (again this made us feel a bit under-appreciated as restaurant-week diners)
Would love to visit again to try the full degustation and see if there is any difference, but mostly to sample more of that delightful food.
