Bistro La Cloche formerly known as Restaurant De Klok, this iconic establishment is restoring its original name and will now continue as Bistro La Cloche. Since 1975, De Klok has been a staple in Leiden, located in the most charming part of the old town, near the Pieterskerk. The vision was always to embrace a love for classic cuisine and service, offering ‘classics with a twist towards the present’ rather than ‘new with a nod to the past’.
In the beautiful, authentic building, the team continues to passionately and dedicatedly provide a delightful culinary experience. Prachtig verzorgd en smaakvol eten.
Een all-in menu genomen. Voor €69 pp. Gewoon en vega. Ik was bang dat er op wijn en voedselkwaliteit zou worden bezuinigd. Maar niets was minder waar. Tenminste 3 van de 4 wijnen waren gewoon goed. Over 1 kon je van mening verschillen (en dat deden we ook). Het eten was ook goed. Geen grote porties maar met 4 gangen...

En tenslotte de bediening. Uitstekend. Geen fratsen of ingewikkelde verhalen. Wel attent en vriendelijk. En geen haast. Kortom: La Cloche zit al sinds mensenheugenis op deze plek. Maar hoewel het interieur een beetje retro is (en dat is eigenlijk een compliment, want dus niet modieus) moet ik zeggen dat het restaurant verder helemaal actueel is. Prima!!
