The former Broederenklooster is one of Zutphen's most ancient and beautiful buildings, a place where you can dream away in its rich history dating back to the year 1200. Now 800 years later, the Boutique Hotel and Restaurant Broederenklooster is located in the striking building. Enjoy a peaceful stay in one of the 15 guest rooms, located in the former 13th-century dormitory, where contemporary comfort merges with historical charm. Be enchanted by the beauty of Zutphen as you look around. With a French-Classical oriented base, your taste buds will be pampered with exciting dishes by chef Niels who can prepare entire palettes of flavours for his guests. Highly recommended is the sophisticated wine list and delicious home-brewed beers!

Alles was goed, de wijn, de mooie gerechtjes, verrassende tussengerechtjes, heerlijk geluncht. De sfeer was zo goed dat ik zelf ten huwelijk ben gevraagd❤️
Na inmiddels wat betere restaurants te hebben bezocht is mijn conclusie: Dit restaurant is wat mij betreft over pretentieus. Te veel ingrediënten op 1 bord, waarbij je niet tot nauwelijks kan navertellen wat je hebt gegeten. En dat is jammer, de gerechten zijn prima maar ook best complex. Een lijst met wat je hebt ...

Te veel ingrediënten op 1 bord, waarbij je niet tot nauwelijks kan navertellen wat je hebt gegeten. En dat is jammer, de gerechten zijn prima maar ook best complex. Een lijst met wat je hebt gegeten in leuk briefje zou een idee zijn.
Dan de wijnkaart, niet volledig actueel. Dit is een slordigheid, die je niet zou verwachten. Daarbij kun je geen passend wijn arrangement krijgen, enkel semi passende wijnen. Die op 1 na niet passend lijken. Gemiste kans, maar wellicht ook tactiek.
We kozen voor een 6 gangen menu, 80 euro. Dit werd met geadviseerde extra, ruim het dubbele. Wat overigens ook tactiek is en begrijpelijk. Maar zelf heb ik betere etentjes gehad voor minder.
