De Michelin-weken waren van start gegaan.
Er moesten drie koppels op een vergelijkbare afstand van hun woonplaats naar een aangeprezen restaurant komen.
De plek was Nijmegen. Keus uit drie en het werd NACIONAL!
Door toeval was alleen het 'oude' gezin bij elkaar.
Dit gezin heeft genoten van het verrassingsmenu in een sfeervolle ambiance.
Het was heerlijk eten, de bediening is meedenkend en probeert het naar de zin te maken. De gangen zagen eruit als schilderijtjes met. Bijna alle smakencombinaties waren mooi op elkaar afgestemd. Persoonlijk vonden wij de profiteroles met pumkin spice (garam masala en komijnpoeder) niet zo'n succes. Komijnzaad heeft ...

Komijnzaad heeft de neiging om een zweterig smaakje krijgen vooral in combinatie met iets romigs. Als Nacional van de koffie ook een beleving maakt, zoals bij de rest van de gerechten dan zou het helemaal af zijn geweest (denk hierbij aan zelfgemaakte fudge, bonbonnetje, kletkop en/of truffeltje). Nu kregen we een 'horeca'-stroopwafel en een fudge bij de koffie. Dat doet onrecht aan de rest van de avond.

Heel erg bedankt voor jullie bezoek en jullie opbouwende punten. We hopen jullie graag nog eens te mogen verwelkomen in NACIONAL.
Eten was super, 5 gangen verassingsmenu, bediening over het algemeen ook. Sfeer was in het hele restaurant goed, alleen zaten wij onderin bij de keuken met verder geen andere gasten om ons heen, dus dat was een beetje jammer. Maar wellicht uit voorzorg uit angst voor geluidsoverlast.
