Description
Jacob Jan Boerma is at the helm of The White Room team. The team that implements its vision in Amsterdam is led by Chef de Cuisine Tristan de Boer and Maître Bram Hommes. Together with them, Boerma wants to touch a wide audience with a style that is in his heart.
3* Michelin Chef Jacob Jan Boerma, known for 'De Leest***', is at the helm of The White Room team. The experienced Chef de Cuisine Tristan de Boer cooks under his signature. The wonderful ingredients and fresh style of de Boer ensure a perfect combination with the sour flavors and spices that Boerma is known for.
The name The White Room is derived from the historic name 'De Witte Zaal', which was given the space when it opened in 1885. The current restaurant is considered the oldest restaurant in Amsterdam, where original styles are still preserved. Thanks to the refined and modern styling, history and present are seamlessly connected here.
The White Room is part of NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, the first NH Collection hotel of NH Hotel Group in the Netherlands. NH Collection is the upper-upscale brand of NH Hotel Group, in which gastronomy plays a very prominent role.
The restaurant was awarded 1 Michelin star in 2017 and has 15,5 Gault&Millau points.

Heel vriendelijke mensen, zowel Engelse als Nederlandse bediening
hapjes waren super lekker
minpuntje was dat we de menu niet lang konden zien, ze heeft hem snel gepresenteerd maar wouden hem eens op ons gemak bekijken

Heerlijke avond in mooie ambiance. Verrast door de structuren en smaken die mooi samen kwamen. Tip om in eigen taal uitleg over de gerechten te krijgen.

De bediening is goed maar ietwat zakelijk. De jongedame die ons bediende, loopt vanuit het ROC stage in TWR. Zij deed het opvallend goed voor iemand die nog geen week meedraait in de bediening. Haar begeleider werkte op dat moment in een ander restaurant binnen hotel Krasnapolsky en dan ontstaat de vraag wie haar coacht. Wij hebben haar enkele suggesties voor verbetering gegeven m.b.t. het bestek en bediening in het algemeen. Dames eerst blijft een goed principe, althans als er ook heren aan tafel zitten. De (Portugese) sommelier was zeer geroutineerd en behulpzaam. De wijnen die hij adviseerde, pasten goed bij het eten. Het menu was fantastisch. Geweldige amuses en, ondanks de gevraagde aanpassingen, een verfijnd en creatief menu. Wat een mooie en heerlijke combinaties! De prijs-kwaliteit verhouding was goed, zeker in vergelijking met andere restaurants die (iets) goedkoper zijn maar veel minder kwaliteit en verfijning bieden qua menu. We hebben heerlijk gegeten en komen graag nog eens terug in de hoop dat de aankleding van het restaurant en de bediening dan even goed zijn als het eten, want dat is werkelijk top!
