Oriental Bar & Kitchen UMAMI by Han Amsterdam is a modern restaurant where you can enjoy a quick business lunch (40 minutes), special teas and coffees, delicious Asiatic finger food, or an extensive 3-course dinner where everyone gets 6 dishes to share.

In addition to sweet, sour, salty and bitter, umami is scientifically recognized as the fifth basic taste. Umami comes from Japanese and literally means "delicious taste". This is because most of the ingredients that contain a high amount of umami are often perceived as 'delicious'.

We had 2 waiters. While the woman was great the man was not nice at all. Food was great. Only complaint is that it was too much. We had a 4 courses menu and the size of each dishes was a bit much i think. The restaurant itself is noce but noisy. Overall we had a good experience. I would still recommend it.
Het was druk en vochtig warm in het restaurant toen we binnenkwamen. Al onderweg naar de tafel werd gevraagd of we water op de tafel wilden en die haast bleef helaas de hele avond.
Het eten was gelukkig verrassend en erg smakelijk! Iedere gang bleken 2 gerechtjes dus met desert erbij 7 gerechtjes, en dat was smulle...

De bediening maakte echter bijzondere afwegingen en helaas doet dat af aan wat dit restaurant wel kan, heerlijk eten bereiden. De bediening was wel wel super aardig, maar het voelt ongemakkelijk als je bord wordt weggehaald terwijl je nog zit te eten, dat er om koffie wordt gevraagd terwijl je net je laatste hap op hebt en nog half glas wijn hebt. Haast haast haast. Onnodig, want we zaten in de shift van 20.30 uur dus kwam niemand meer na ons. Iets meer oog voor het ritme van de klant, zou zeker helpen. Door de aanbieding hebben we zalig gegeten, niet teveel betaald, en een paar grappige verhalen over de avond!
Prima eten, weinig sfeer
