However we were rather disappointed with the whole experience. It was cold inside, too cold and there were also high numbers of little flies around the tables causing 2 occasions where a fly ended up in a glass of wine. Toilets also not the cleanest.
But let's focus on the food; from a Michelin restaurant (and we have visited plenty) you may expect to be surprised / entertained / shocked even at times. Unfortunately there was none of this at Zout & Citroen. The presentation of all dishes lacked the perfection / detailing we are used to see in a Michelin star restaurant. We experienced the starters as too salty. The steak tartare, their "signature dish" is cut too chunky, leaving large sections hang together making it awkward to eat small parts of it. The main course was best flavoured but, due to the selection of ingredients in combination of the colour of selected crockery for this dish, it looked faded and lacked any colour. Any desert at a Michelin star restaurant should be memorable as, after all, it is the last course you will remember. However the small desert we were served lacked complexity and one of us missed the "jelly disk" showing inconsistency.
You want to experience a Michelin restaurant for the first time? Please do not visit Zout & Citroen as you will not get the experience you will receive and are based on price allowed to be expended, from a Michelin restaurant and will likely not visit another afterwards. And that, would be a real pity...

Dat was eigenlijk zonde van al het lekkers dat geserveerd werd. Iets meer rust had de beleving nog beter gemaakt.
Het was erg lekker, en sfeervol. Schrokken echter wel van de prijs van de drankjes, die zijn echt buiten proportie.
