Bij aankomst werden we hartelijk welkom geheten, op zo’n manier dat je zou denken dat het de eigenaresse zelf was, maar deze dame is slechts sinds een half jaar in dienst bij de Zaanse Kathmandu. Zij pakte onze jassen aan en bracht deze weg, en kregen wij de gelegenheid de keuze te maken uit 3 gereserveerde tafels.

Bij aankomst werden we hartelijk welkom geheten, op zo’n manier dat je zou denken dat het de eigenaresse zelf was, maar deze dame is slechts sinds een half jaar in dienst bij de Zaanse Kathmandu. Zij pakte onze jassen aan en bracht deze weg, en kregen wij de gelegenheid de keuze te maken uit 3 gereserveerde tafels.
Daarna nam ze onze aperitiefjes op en schonk ze uit. Omdat we met een Primera-voucher de reservering hadden gemaakt kregen we het daarvoor toegedachte menu bestaande uit een amuse van pappadum met een salsa, knoflook-limoen-mintyoghurt en een wat pittiger chutney, fantastisch want alles was vers en zelfbereid.
Hierna was het voorgerecht dumpling, de een gevuld met goed gekruid lamsgehakt de ander met champignon en spinazie en geserveerd met een pittige saus die nu eens niet naar sambal smaakte.
Ondertussen hadden we een keus gemaakt uit de wijnkaart, we kozen hier voor een Syrah van Libanese afkomst uit de Bekaavallei. Deze wijn is natuurlijk iets speciaals omdat je het bijna niet tegenkomt, de kwaliteit was goed en smaakte heerlijk bij alles wat we aten, en dat alles voor een beschaafde prijs van € 25,50.
Het hoofdgerecht bestond uit een grillplaat met daarop voor 3 personen kip en lamsvlees in een gekruid jasje, een milde curry met kip, een iets pittiger curry met lamsvlees, spicy spinazie met aardappeltjes als bijgerecht, rijst en naanbrood (ook weer zelfgebakken) en ondanks de voucher stond er een overvloed aan eten op tafel en alles even smakelijk en verrassend, er is duidelijk zorg en aandacht aan besteed!
Het nagerecht was ook weer een feestje op zich, een vruchtentartaartje met een soort van kletskop als scheiding tussen het fruit en het guave-ijs, een echt tropische verrassing.
Als ik het geheel een schoolcijfer zou moeten geven inclusief het interieur, bediening, uitvoering en prijsstelling zou het een 9,5 zijn
Zaterdag met de hele familie gegeten bij kathmandu het was weer heerlijk en de sfeer was weer zoals altijd met de goed bediening
Vorige week, 27 jan 2018, met een gezelschap van 5 personen lekker gegeten bij Zaanse Kathmandu.
Het is echt een ervaring om hier een keer te eten. Alles klopt: het eten, het personeel, de wijnen. Alles is perfect. Top bediening fijne en kundige sommelier.
Beter kan niet. CHAPEAU !!!
